The Band…

"It's all about time" is one of the newest songs by the upstate New York jam band Cliff Street. And for this upcoming four piece band, nothing could be more true. For the past six years Cliff Street has been a dedicated band playing fun local hot spots but for this summer's tour the band has focused on playing  festivals in order to gain a larger fan base.

Cliff Street's music can be described as energized groove rock. Their unique sound ranges from the trancy improv guitar playing of Jesse Radosti and Kevin Fives, to the drum and bass free-styling of Mike Garrie and John Hait. Over the past six years, Cliff Street has mastered infusing a variety of different musical backgrounds including jam, funk, rock, reggae and strong vocals into a great night for dancing. To the band, Cliff Street not only represents the name of the street in which they first jammed together but also an endless musical road that allows the musicians to experiment with progressive new grooves sounds and rhymes. This road has led Cliff Street to playing in some of the east coasts top venues such as New York City's knitting factory, Albany's Revolution Hall and Nectar's in Burlington Vermont.

The pavement for Cliff Street was first laid in the party atmosphere of Oneonta State University in the year 2000 when four musicians decided to hop on a small white bus and travel down Cliff Street to play in their college bars. After three years of local success, Cliff Street established a following in the greater Albany area and have played at Bellstock, Phish's Coventry and The New York State Harvest Festival. The band has played at the Sterling stage Folk festival, and since then have played at Pennsylvania's Stonehenge, Bacon fest (NY), and the Wallow in Clay Hollow festival (NH). With an eye on the future, Cliff Street is excited about their upcoming schedule.  Look to see them at the Red Square in Albany NY, The Positve Mental Fest, and Stonehenge, Solo Projects abound so stay up to date at www.myspace.com  As the band journeys down Cliff Street, they hope to bring their fans along for the ride as they continue to on their musical trip
